Sybase announces a reseller agreement with THOUGHT Inc. to provide
CocoBase Enterprise O/R, Object to Relational Mapping Technology
to EAServer customers.
- This new agreement will allow
Sybase customers to simplify the process of persisting relational
data as CocoBase’s Dynamic Mapping Layer can quickly and easily
map, generate and deploy Container Managed Persistence (CMP),
Bean Managed Persistence (BMP) or Java Server Pages (JSP)
to EAServer.
- CocoBase and Sybase aim to save
EAServer customers time and money by eliminating the need
to hard-code database access for Enterprise Java Beans (EJB)
Entity Beans and JSP’s – decreasing development time by as
much as 85 percent.

EMERYVILLE , Calif.
, December 17, 2001 -- Sybase, Inc., (NYSE:SY) today announced
a reseller agreement with CocoBase Enterprise O/R from THOUGHT
Inc., the leader in Object to Relational (O/R) Mapping Technology,
to help customers simplify the complex process of persisting relational
data by automatically generating CMP and BMP Entity Beans.
In addition to cutting the time it takes to code Container Managed
Persistence (CMP) and Bean Managed Persistence (BMP) Entity Beans
from approximately 48 minutes to 30 minutes, automatic code generation
minimizes debugging and maintenance issues thereby the reducing
the overall development effort and cost.
CocoBase’s Dynamic Mapping Layer allows Sybase customers to quickly
and easily map, generate and deploy CMP, BMP or Java Server Pages
(JSP) to EAServer. CocoBase boosts productivity by eliminating
the need to hard-code database access for Enterprise Java Beans
(EJB) Entity beans and JSP’s which can decrease development time
by as much as 85 percent. This partnership offers substantial
cost savings for companies investing heavily in EJB-based application
development.
CocoBase Enterprise O/R, Dynamic Mapping for the Enterprise, provides
a powerful standard for bridging the chasm between objects used
by Sybase EAServer and relational databases. The CocoBase technology
