THOUGHT Inc.® (www.thoughtinc.com), the leader in Object to
Relational (O/R) Mapping Technology is pleased to announce the release
CocoBase Enterprise O/R, Dynamic Mapping for the Enterprise, Version
3.1 Service Release 13 with automatic transactional cache memory
persistence. Previously, customers had to manually configure CocoBase
caching to integrate properly with BEA. Now, the BEA customer can
create high performance distributed J2EE applications, automatically,
reducing Weblogic's overhead and significantly increasing its performance.
The CocoBase caching system is a fully extensible design that allows
customers to choose between an in-memory, non-distributed or distributed
memory and/or disk caching implementation. Since the CocoBase caching
system can disk persist, it does not require the startup overhead
associated with typical caching systems. In memory only caches must
re-read their data from the master database to repopulate the cache.
By contrast a persistent cache stores a copy of the cache data on
disk, and uses that copy to populate the cache memory on startup.
Now that CocoBase can integrate with a variety of memory only and
persistent cache (RDBMS & ODBMS) systems to provide customer
caching, it currently offers the most comprehensive caching options
for customers available in Java.
CocoBase® Enterprise O/R boosts productivity by eliminating
the need to hand-code database access, automating fine-grained EJB
and Java O/R development without the developer sacrificing performance,
scaling or control. This can decrease the cost of database access
development by as much as 85%. The easy to use mapping tool requires
very little maintenance and provides additional savings, post-deployment.
It is the only non-invasive, fully extensible and portable Mapping
Layer, capable of transparent persistence across a distributed environment.
