O/R, today announced the integration of CocoBase Enterprise O/R
with UML/XMI® Compatible Modeling
tools (i.e.Together Control Center and Rational Rose). CocoBase
can import model information into its O/R maps and link definitions
(i.e. descriptors). Developers can now extend their favorite Modeling
Tools' functionality to include CocoBase's dynamic, object-to-rational
database persistence. CocoBase can turn UML/XMI® Models into
persistence maps, generate a complete range of abstract Java classes,
EJB components and greatly simplify the complex process of mapping
and persisting relational data.
CocoBase boosts productivity by eliminating the need to hand-code
or hand-maintain database access for CMP, BMP Entity beans, Session
Beans, JSPs and Java Classes, decreasing development time by as
much as 85%. For companies that are still expected to spend more
than a billion dollars over the next year on EJB or Java based application
development. CocoBase will provide substantial cost savings. The

This latest generation of CocoBase's technology can identify local
and distributed 'copies' of objects and parts of object graphs,
and manage them in both a local and distributed environment. Entire
graphs of objects can be copied to some remote machine, manipulated,
processed, returned and then synchronized with the originals. CocoBase,
using this facility, can manage virtually any serializable object
graph and can simultaneously be used by multiple persistence facilities.
