San Francisco, CA. March 19, 2002 -
THOUGHT Inc.®, The Dynamic O/R Mapping® Company, announces
the availability of Dynamic Transparent Persistence
tm Session Beans from CocoBase®
Enterprise O/R, Optimized for J2EE and J2SE Customer Success. THOUGHT
Inc.® includes a Generic Session Bean implementation that extends
CocoBase® Dynamic Transparent Persistence
tm into distributed J2EE environments.
With Distributed Dynamic Transparent Persistence tm, the task of persistence occurs on an application server, rather
than on a client, using the servers' built-in transaction support
and CocoBase's® object tracking, management, and reconciliation
features takes care of the navigation. With CocoBase®, developers
can quickly create Session Beans without writing any navigation
"Innovating Dynamic Transparent Persistence
tm to work with Session Beans is another example of our commitment
to offer developers a complete solution for persisting their data.
With just a few lines of code, developers can manage simple to complex
data needs with Session Beans," said Ward Mullins, CTO of THOUGHT
Dynamic Transparent Persistence tm extends
the general dynamic nature of CocoBase® by allowing the developer
to persist relational data with a simple, non-invasive, non-proprietary,
vendor neutral, re-distributable object. For example, a session
bean running on one application server may access an Oracle relational
database, while a second session bean running on a separate server
machine is accessing a Sybase relational database. This is a truly
distributed programming model in action. CocoBase® leverages
the transaction coordination capabilities of the J2EE environment
while minimizing the programming effort required to hand code the
This technology, in persisting and retrieving complex object models,
acts as a Session Bean "server" service running within
the host application server. The Generic Session Bean can serve
any standard Java object model or object graph. Object graphs can
have any combination of 1-1, 1-M, M-1 or M-M inter-object relationships.
The CocoBase® Generic Session Bean is included as source code
and is user extensible. To request a download of CocoBase® Enterprise

About CocoBase® Enterprise O/R
CocoBase® Enterprise O/R, Optimized for J2EE and J2SE Customer
Success, solves the Object to Relational impedance mismatch. It
virtually eliminates the need to hand-code database access for EJB
and Java Applications. This can directly decrease up to 85% of the
cost of database access development for enterprise customers faced
with deploying fine-grained (simple to complex) relationships on
the J2EE - EJB O/R or J2SE - Java O/R platforms.
CocoBase's® unique Dynamic O/R Mappingä Layer ensures that
the developer can easily build and deploy applications for optimal
scalability, performance with minimal maintenance. The CocoBase®
technology is based on landmark patents issued to THOUGHT® Inc.
for Repository based Object Mapping. It is the technology and product
leader in the Java space. After years of product acceptance and
thousands of installation sites, CocoBase® is in a class by
itself in terms of delivering Object to Relational Mapping technology.
