THOUGHT Inc.®, The Dynamic O/R Mapping Company, announces
the new release of CocoBase® Enterprise O/R version 4.5 Service
Release 1, enabling developers to go from a complex object model
and/or database schema to working application in minutes. For developers
initially getting started with CocoBase® on a project, the reduced
learning curve and time to get an application up and running is
substantial. This is another example of the "Quick and Easy"
nature of CocoBase® that cuts the cost of database access development
by up to 85%.
Additions
to CocoBase® Enterprise O/R, Version 4.5, Service Release 1
include the following;

1)
WebSphere® Application Server, Version 5 now integrated for
BMP & CMP Entity Beans, Session Beans, and Distributed Dynamic
Transparent Persistence.

2) Updated Eclipse IDE integration to auto-detect and install on
Eclipse version 2.

3) New wizard to easily import entire database schema in one simple
process.

4) Updated Class Importer which makes it easier to import complex
class models and optionally auto-create the resulting database tables.

5) Updated UML/XMI Object Model Importer makes importing the UML
model much more controllable.
Engineers
typically start with either an existing object model in a UML Modeling
tool, a complex class model, or a complex database structure (i.e.
schema). Having the ability to quickly import the classes or tables
and automatically track the relationships is an amazing times savings.
With CocoBase®, the import and generation of maps and resulting
navigation model all occurs in one easy process. From this point,
all the developer may need to do is to auto-generate any additional
objects or components.
For example, if the developer starts with an existing complex database
structure or schema, CocoBase® automatically imports the entire
schema, creates all the maps and relationships between the data
(i.e. navigation model). With this created, the process is quickly
completed by generating the Java code which could be any of and
or a mix of the following; CMP & BMP Entity Beans, Session Beans,
Dynamic Transparent Persistence, and stand-alone Java. This
greatly streamlines the development cycle making it possible to
go from relational data to deployable application in a short amount
of time. Thus reducing the development time from hours to minutes,
which directly supports meeting challenging ROI requirements.
